Last May, Leland and I got engaged on Corolla Beach North Carolina. This year, we were so happy to come back as a married couple! There are so many things to do and explore in Corolla and so much relaxing time that offers opportunities for reflecting on God’s mercy and His wonderful creation.

There’s a section of the island that is slightly north of Corolla that I had always wanted to visit. In four years of vacationing here with my family, we never got around to it. BUT, this year, my husband suggested it and so we went – the 4-Wheel Drive Beach. This stretch of beach is sectioned off so that you can drive your vehicle on it and attempt to find wild horses. While we didn’t end up seeing wild horses, we saw plenty of waves, birds, and a few cars that accidentally got stuck.

The cool thing about this beach is that you can walk and bike on part of it too! We only drove down about 2 miles, but it was so serene to see how the beach looked with no houses poking their faces above the dunes. Of course, I had fun because I wasn’t the one driving, but it was a perfect way to end our week-long vacation with both of our families and friends.

If you’re ever in Corolla or any part of the Outer Banks, you should definitely check out the 4-Wheel Drive Beach. Hopefully, you can get lucky and find some wild horses, too! I hear 5pm is the prime time for that. 🙂

Have a great rest of your day!

P.S. My husband and I are moving to the Pittsburgh area soon, so I’ll be sure to post about our new tiny bungalow and how things go settling in! Look for a post on moving tips as well 🙂
